Strategy Enhancement: To develop and review a strong competitive strategy ... or even the strategy for an effective organization within the business... we must consider these three major factors:
- The Environment of the business or the organization: what are the demands, the constraints, the opportunities, the trends, and the competitive landscape.
- The Resources: what is available - or needs to be available - to carry out the desired strategy. Such resources include financial, technical, physical infrastructure, knowledge, reputation, etc.
- The History and Culture: to successfully implement a strategy that requires a different culture than what your organization currently has requires a great deal of attention to shifting that culture. Being aware of the history and culture can help you make better-informed decisions about change.
Further, we must be sure to answer the 6 major questions associated with a strong mission statement. Then goals and objectives can be developed... and supporting strategies agreed upon for how the organization will meet the goals and objectives.
Once the Mission, Goals, Objectives and Supporting Strategies are agreed upon, the action plans are developed to implement the necessary changes - or to strengthen current operations.
